✥ WHAT KIND OF PRESENCE DO THEY HAVE: the humanoid body that Vrtra is currently inhabiting ("Varshahn") is a magical simulacrum. He has been "woven with magical wards" to disguise his true identity as, essentially, a life-sized puppet being remotely piloted by a dragon; however, in canon there is at least one character who could see beyond the wards. Please let me know if you would be interested in plotting something with regards to this. Otherwise, the humanoid disguise is fairly good; he breathes and moves fluidly, etc. He does not need to eat or drink (or sleep).

Vrtra is from patch 6.2 (post-Endwalker main story) and thus contains spoilers. I will do my best to minimize them in most tags, but please let me know if you would like to avoid all of them.

As a dragon of the First Brood, Vrtra is a wellspring of aether (magical power) and has a variety of abilities, both passive and active. Most of these are not available to him in Eastbound as he is inhabiting his vessel full-time, but something he does still have is the ability to sense other dragons. This includes those who have been in some way “touched” by dragons, not just full dragons themselves.
